The Birth of an Icon
Since its inception in 1967, the Summit Club has been a cornerstone of Tulsa's social and dining scene and founded by Jack W. Kelley, who contributed to the design of the Petroleum Club building.
Through the decades, the Summit Club of Tulsa has been a constant in a changing world, serving as a gathering place for leaders and a venue where tradition meets innovation.
The club was envisioned as a premier establishment atop Tulsa's first modern skyscraper. This vision materialized with constructing the 32-story Fourth National Bank building, now known as the Bank of America Center, where the club occupies the top three floors.

Above Tulsa’s skyline, this iconic location reflects the city’s growth during the mid-20th century and reminds us of its role in hosting historic events, from elegant receptions to pivotal business meetings that helped shape the city’s future.
In the 1990s, the Summit Club continued to evolve, embracing a modern approach to private club culture. Technological advancements and a renewed focus on member engagement marked this era. The club expanded its amenities to include more diverse programming, such as wine tastings, guest speaker events, and themed dinners, appealing to a younger, more dynamic membership.
The 1980s brought challenges and opportunities for the Summit Club as Tulsa navigated the fluctuating energy economy. During this decade, the club maintained its commitment to being a steady presence for its members. It adapted to the times by refining its offerings, introducing more versatile dining options, and enhancing its event spaces to cater to traditional and contemporary tastes.
From its inception, the club gained popularity for its innovative approach to private dining and events. It became a sought-after venue for formal dinners, professional gatherings, and special occasions. Its location in the city’s tallest building (at the time) symbolized Tulsa’s ambitions and growth.
Over the years, The Summit Club has undergone significant renovations to enhance its facilities and member experience. Notably, the 32nd floor was transformed into The Penthouse, offering an upscale dining room, bar lounge, private dining areas, and an exterior terrace with panoramic views of downtown Tulsa and the Arkansas River. These updates have modernized the club's ambiance and attracted new members, contributing to its growth and success.
